Great for any pie!

Pie crust in a pan. The pan is on a floured surface next to a rolling pin.

Lots of people like pie especially in the fall as we near Thanksgiving. We even have pie day in March so of course you will need to look for a good pie crust recipe. Well look no more here on the ranch we have a pie crust recipe that is scrumptious. And super simple to mix up.

We like pie here and there are so many ways to use pie crust. We have made savory pie and fried pie. The list could go on. If you want some comforting food that is warm and steaming after a hard days work pie is a great choice. And it is great for large amounts of people. There have been many times that you can walk in into the kitchen here and smell a sweet pie baking. Then you open the oven door and get a gust of air that smells like spices and everything good in a pie. If only pie candles could smell as good as the real thing. This pie crust is one of the best that i have tasted. It is also great not in pie form but rolled out and covered in cinnamon sugar.

  • 1 ¼ cup flour

  • ¼ tsp. Salt

  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar

  • 8 Tbsp. cold Butter

  • 1 egg

  • 2 Tbsp. Water if the dough seems to dry.

  1. In a food processor place all the dry ingredients. Mix lightly. Now add the butter cut into chunks and blend until combined. Pour the egg in and mix until the dough is smooth.

2: If the dough seems dry add the water. On a floured surface roll out the dough to desired thickness. Place it in your pie pan and you have a homemade crust ready for your favorite filling.

Do not let the dough sit on the counter after you mix it up. The butter will get warm and then you will not be able to roll it out without it breaking. If that does happen simply piece it together in the pie pan. It won’t look as great but it still should taste good.

There you have then a delicious pie crust ready for your table. Please try it and leave a comment below.
