The best cookie around!
Ah, chocolate chip cookies. These have to be one of the best cookies ever created. Almost everyone can remember eating chocolate chip cookies when they were a little kid. They pair perfectly as a snack with peanut butter and jelly. Not to mention just a all around great dessert. My mom would bake chocolate chip cookies when i was little and the best time to eat them was once they had sat out for a while and got to the crunchy stage. After I got older I adjusted the recipe just a little and made them a little more crispy. This recipe is simple and would be great as a first recipe to teach kids to make. If you have little helpers they would love to help make this yummy cookie recipe. So if you love a good crispy gooey chocolate chip cookie this is the recipe for you.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
6/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper, this recipe makes about three dozen. Mix all of the wet ingredients in a bowl until fluffy. In a separate bowl mix all of the dry ingredients. Then add them to the wet mixture and stir until everything is well blended. Now pour the chocolate chips in a little at a time and mix until they are evenly stirred throughout the cookie dough. Make the dough into golf ball size balls and place on the cookie sheets. Bake for 9 minutes or until golden brown.
Now pour yourself a glass of milk and enjoy.
Tips and Substitutions:
If you want to reduce the sugar in the cookies you can substitute the 1/2 cup of sugar for a 1/2 cup of stevia sweetener. Using two teaspoons to scoop out the dough will make the process less messy when shaping the cookies.
